IlluminatED Podcast

I recently had the pleasure of being the featured guest on (episode 116) the IlluminatED Podcast, hosted by Kiran Kodithala and Rohan Polakam. This podcast explores issues related to higher education and intersections with education technology–with a particular focus on conversations with industry leaders and technology leaders in higher education that look at proposed or implemented solutions to the issues higher education institutions face. They also delve into short-term and long-term trajectories of higher ed and the various considerations by which educational technologies fit into those landscapes.

Given the many hats I wear at IU, the focus of our conversation was primarily on digital literacy (broadly construed), but we anchored it in a few specific places: the Digital Gardener Initiative at Indiana University, the implementation of Hypothesis (and Social Annotation) at scale in our writing program at IU Bloomington, and the importance of digital literacy in this dawning moment of Generative AI.

I really appreciate the care and thoughtfulness with which Kiran and Rohan approached the conversation and if you 45-50 spare minutes, you might take a listen! Link below:
