Had the pleasure of delivering a keynote and leading a workshop/discussion for the Butler Community College faculty today. I really enjoyed the conversations with faculty and am deeply appreciative of their willingness to listen to me share my passions about digital literacy, my students incredible projects, and the varying pedagogical approaches I’ve embraced over the year.

But, in truth, I had to modify a lot of elements this morning before the talk because Adobe Express is updating to the new system and I was having all kind of trouble making it work. I couldn’t even publish my keynote and so had to run it out of the Express Editor (even the “presentation mode” wasn’t working). So rather than have faculty engage in a Think-Pair-Make-Share project using express, I pivoted. Not ideal, but I also didn’t want to invite them into the frustrations I was feeling today. The plus side, Adobe will fix the problem soon and the situation became my opening example of the challenges and realities of working digital platforms.
