Earlier this week, I led a IU-wide webinar for faculty on “Chat GPT, Generative AI, and Syllabi: An Ethics of Practice.” It was clearly a fairly timely issue has several hundred faculty tuned in, followed along, and asked questions. Of course, I only hope they found it helpful and that I was able to help them prepare for the semester with a bit more confidence.
There were two key resources I shared as part of that presentation. The first, obviously, was the Adobe Express page presentation aid, which can be found here: https://express.adobe.com/page/DjrK4zSIgCey1/
The second was my Generative AI | Ethics of Practice document, which can be found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/167uCCB7suSPij1AgEanTdRqyWq-GLcYt/view?pli=1
On a side note: For this talk I used Adobe Firefly and Adobe Photoshop to create all the presentation images. It was fun to get the AI to create something close to what I wanted and then go in and modify it to fit. It really is an enjoyable workflow that I have no doubt I’ll be using more and more in the future. I’m likely even going to include it as part of the freshman digital literacy course I’m teaching this semester.
