Access to Minecraft: Education Edition will be provided to participants through IU at no cost. Minecraft: Education Edition is a version of the popular game Minecraft with features specifically tailored to an educational experience. In the Digital Gardener-Lite program, participant groups will be challenged to build a replica of a building on the IU Bloomington campus to scale in the Minecraft world. This deceptively simple task will require participants to creatively translate a real-world building, with an eye to the building’s unique history, into the limitations of Minecraft’s structure. At the end of the week, participants will present their Minecraft build and creative, collaborative process.
